Welcome to my gallery. I work in acrylic on canvas, gouache on Montval 300 g. paper and collage on paper and card. My subjects are grouped in series, though you may find me working on two paintings successively, from different series. Obviously, coming to live in Provence, my first love was the landscape, but observed with the eye of a British painter - so not just sunflowers, lavender, vines and blue skies, but evenings, early mornings, different seasons, when snow or clouds sit on top of the mountain I see from the garden, or periods just after rain, when a dark grey sky hovers over sunlit vines.
Different light penetrates the interior spaces, and you will find a series of interiors and still lives that have muted to bright colour and depth provided by reflections and open doors and windows.
Like an explorer, sometimes I take an imaginary magnifying glass to the wild and cultivated areas of the garden and find dynamic forms or dense patterning there.
And then there are "nocturnes" surprisingly colourful at times; a long term and ongoing series of "The Dream life of Cats"; and work on the Real Life of people and events.
